Art Is A Promise Of Happiness

Art Is A Promise Of Happiness

When we look at the ideas of Walter Benjamin about reproduction of art, relations between art and technology, we reach to a point which has negative views about reproduction and technological advances about art.

With the newest technological advances, artists and techniques, almost every artwork can be reproduced by some other artist sor computers. We can find Mona Lisa on the Wall of a cafe, or we can put Monet’s ‘’Impression, Sunrise’’ painting on our flats Wall. But when we do these things and make more reproductions, Walter Benjamin claims that it’s harming the real, original artwork. Because according to this logic, it has not the same emotions and feelings in it. Ofcourse we can understand, we can feel things about reproduction but it’s not consisted by the same aura.

According to Benjamin’s ideas, true happiness is real art  it’s mean, every art which not fake, not copy made by real artist. But almost none of us have the original artworks and reproductions are harming happiness of art. We just have which systems offers us. Nothing more.
